DOWSIL™ SH 780 One-Part Neutral Oxime RTV Silicone Sealant
DOWSIL™ SH 780 Sealant is a one-part neutral oxime-cure RTV silicone sealant designed for general sealing and bonding applications. No mixing is required, and its non-sag consistency makes it suitable for vertical joints and localized sealing work. SH 780 provides good adhesion to a wide range of substrates including various metals, glass, tiles and earthenware. Dow specifically notes that copper and brass are exceptions among metal substrates. Its neutral cure chemistry is less corrosive than conventional acidic silicone systems. After curing, the material forms a flexible silicone elastomer and remains flexible over a broad temperature range of approximately -40°C to 150°C. Dow also highlights its strong resistance to UV, weathering, heat and water compared with many organic sealants.
