DOWSIL™ SE 9168 RTV One-Part Room-Temperature Moisture-Cure Silicone Adhesive/Sealant
DOWSIL™ SE 9168 RTV is a one-part room-temperature moisture-curing silicone adhesive/sealant designed primarily for electronics assembly. It cures through exposure to atmospheric moisture and does not require an oven. Its non-flowing paste consistency makes it suitable for component fixing and localized dispensing on circuit boards and modules. A key feature of SE 9168 RTV is its controlled silicone volatility, which helps reduce the potential for volatile silicone species to affect nearby sensitive electronic components. Dow’s current product page also lists a UL 94 V-0 flammability rating. At 50% relative humidity, tack-free time is approximately 6.5 minutes. After cure, the material has a Shore A hardness of approximately 44, elongation of approximately 363%, tensile strength of approximately 535 psi, and specific gravity of approximately 1.32 at 25°C. These properties provide both secure component fixing and flexible vibration damping.
