CEMEDINE SX-UV100A One-Part UV-Triggered Dual-Cure Elastic Adhesive
CEMEDINE SX-UV100A is a one-part UV-triggered elastic adhesive designed for industrial assembly. Unlike conventional UV adhesives that require UV light to pass through a transparent substrate, SX-UV100A can be irradiated first and bonded afterward, making it suitable for opaque materials such as metals and UV-cut panels. SX-UV100A uses a dual-cure mechanism combining UV triggering and subsequent moisture curing. Immediately after UV exposure, the adhesive becomes gel-like and develops slight tack, enabling temporary fixing and easy assembly. Moisture curing then proceeds gradually to form the final elastic adhesive layer. The product is based on an acrylic copolymer and is supplied as a light-yellow translucent liquid. Its viscosity is approximately 35 Pa·s at 23°C, with a density of approximately 1.02 g/cm³. CEMEDINE recommends an accumulated UV dose of 1000–2000 mJ/cm², and the tack-free time is approximately 2 minutes at 23°C.

Product Features
UV-Triggered Cure:UV irradiation controls the start of curing, enabling on-demand processing.
Bonding After UV Exposure:After UV irradiation, the adhesive becomes gel-like with mild tack, allowing assembly after exposure and enabling bonding of opaque substrates.
Dual-Cure Mechanism:UV exposure provides rapid initial fixing, followed by moisture curing to form the final elastic bond.
High Flexibility:Shore A hardness of approximately 19 and Tg of approximately -25°C provide good flexibility against vibration and thermal shock.
Broad Substrate Compatibility:CEMEDINE states that the SX-UV series provides good adhesion to metals, plastics, ceramics and other materials.
Suitable for Automated Coating:Compatible with coaters, screen printing and patterned adhesive application.
Product Applications
Electronic Component Assembly:Bonding and fixing of various electrical and electronic components.
UV-Cut Panels:Suitable for panels and covers that block UV transmission.
Opaque Materials:Bonding of metals and dark plastics that cannot be easily bonded with conventional UV adhesives.
PC, Smartphone & Tablet Components:Suitable for housings and electronic-device components.
Alternative to Double-Sided Tape:Can replace double-sided adhesive tape in selected fixing applications.
Vibration-Resistant Assemblies:Suitable for flexible bonding where vibration, thermal shock and substrate movement are present.
