G-746 Thermal silicone grease
Thermal silicone grease is a paste-like thermal conductive and insulating material made of silicone oil as the base oil, mixed with thermal conductive fillers such as metal oxides (e.g., aluminum oxide, zinc oxide). Its core function is to fill the tiny gaps between heat-generating components and heat dissipation parts to improve thermal conduction efficiency, while preventing electrical short circuits.
Product Details
ts key role is to solve the problem of "contact thermal resistance" — even if the surface of a metal heat sink and a heat-generating body (such as a CPU) seems to fit, there are still microscopic gaps in reality (trapping air, which has extremely low thermal conductivity). Thermal silicone grease can fill these gaps, allowing heat to quickly transfer from the heat-generating body to heat dissipation components (e.g., radiators, heat sinks).
Its core characteristics include:
High thermal conductivity: The thermal conductivity is usually 0.8-5 W/m·℃ (with significant differences among different models), which is dozens of times that of air;
Electrical insulation: Prevents short circuits between heat-generating components and metal heat dissipation parts, ensuring equipment safety;
High temperature resistance: Can work stably for a long time in the range of -50℃ to 200℃ (some models can withstand higher temperatures), without curing or flowing;
Low volatility: The base oil is not easy to lose during long-term use, ensuring long-lasting thermal conduction performance.
It is commonly used in heat dissipation scenarios of electronic devices such as CPUs, GPUs, LED lamp beads, power modules (e.g., IGBTs), and transformers.
