Klüberalfa GR Y VAC 2 High-Vacuum PFPE/PTFE Specialty Grease
Klüberalfa GR Y VAC 2 is a special long-term grease for vacuum applications developed by Klüber Lubrication. It is based on perfluorinated polyether (PFPE) oil with a PTFE thickener, and is a white, homogeneous grease with an NLGI grade of 2. The product is designed to provide very low evaporation under vacuum and ultra-high-vacuum conditions. NOK Klüber Japan specifies a vapor pressure of approximately 7.0×10⁻¹¹ Pa at 20°C, while Klüber’s 2025 global product information lists 6.71×10⁻⁸ hPa at 100°C. Its recommended service temperature range is -20°C to 250°C. The PFPE/PTFE system also offers high thermal stability and good resistance to aggressive media. These lubricants are generally neutral toward most elastomers and plastics, although Klüber specifically notes an exception for perfluorinated rubber and recommends compatibility testing before series use.
