Shin-Etsu KF-54 Methyl Phenyl Silicone Fluid
Shin-Etsu KF-54 is a methyl phenyl polysiloxane silicone fluid manufactured by Shin-Etsu Chemical Co., Ltd. Compared with conventional dimethyl silicone fluids, KF-54 contains a higher level of phenyl groups, giving it improved heat resistance and a relatively high refractive index. Shin-Etsu positions KF-54 as a heat-resistant methyl phenyl silicone fluid suitable for high-temperature lubrication and thermal applications. KF-54 is a single substance consisting of 100% methyl phenyl polysiloxane, CAS No. 68083-14-7. Recommended applications include oils, modified oils, resin modifiers, hydraulic fluids, coating additives and cosmetic silicones.
