Harmonic Drive HarmonicGrease® SK-1A Special Grease for Harmonic Drive Gearheads
HarmonicGrease® SK-1A is a special-purpose lubricant developed specifically for HarmonicDrive® gear systems by Harmonic Drive Systems. The manufacturer states that it provides excellent durability and efficiency compared with ordinary general-purpose grease when used in Harmonic Drive gearheads. The formulation uses refined mineral oil as the base oil and lithium soap as the thickener, together with extreme-pressure and other functional additives. Official technical data lists the product as NLGI No.2, with a worked penetration of 265 to 295 at 25°C and a dropping point of approximately 197°C. Harmonic Drive recommends SK-1A primarily for larger Harmonic Drive gear units, including sizes 20, 32, 45 and 65 in the CSG-GH / CSF-GH range. Its recommended operating temperature range is 0°C to 40°C.
