KAWAMURA DEFRIC COAT EB-3 Molybdenum Disulfide Solid Film Lubricating Coating
DEFRIC COAT EB-3 is a solid-film lubricant developed by Kawamura Research Institute. It is formulated mainly with epoxy resin and molybdenum disulfide (MoS₂) and forms a strong, low-friction lubricating film on metal surfaces. The coating helps reduce direct metal-to-metal contact, friction, wear, sticking and seizure. Compared with conventional oil or grease lubrication, it is particularly suitable for parts where liquid lubricants are difficult to retain or where frequent re-lubrication is undesirable. EB-3 can be applied by spraying, dipping, tumbling or brushing. Under the manufacturer's reference test conditions using phosphate-treated SPCC with an approximately 13 μm coating, the typical coefficient of friction is about 0.06, together with good load-carrying, adhesion, corrosion-resistance and solvent-resistance performance.
