HARVES DRYSURF MDF-1174S Semi-Wet Quick-Drying Thin-Film Lubricant
MDF-1174S is a semi-wet quick-drying lubricant in HARVES’ DRYSURF series and is classified for general sliding applications. HARVES specifically lists shaft sliding parts in lens units as a representative application and also identifies MDF-1174S as one of its major DRYSURF products for optical instruments. Semi-wet DRYSURF products are applied in liquid form and form a thin lubricating film containing a very small amount of oil. Compared with conventional grease, they help reduce problems related to application-amount control, scattering, running, sticking noise and stickiness. Despite the thin film, they provide good durability together with low friction and low wear.
