Fomblin® Y LVAC 14/6 PFPE Vacuum Pump Oil
Fomblin® Y LVAC 14/6 is a PFPE-based inert vacuum pump fluid designed for demanding vacuum applications. Fomblin® Y fluids are perfluorinated polyethers composed of carbon, fluorine and oxygen, giving them low vapor pressure, excellent chemical inertness, high thermal stability and no flash or fire point. Y LVAC 14/6 is specifically listed for sealing and lubrication in rotary vacuum pumps. It is also used in chemical and semiconductor vacuum processes where conventional hydrocarbon oils may not provide sufficient chemical resistance or cleanliness. The fluid offers good compatibility with metals, plastics and elastomers and good resistance to both aqueous and non-aqueous solvents. Its very low vapor pressure of approximately 1×10⁻⁷ torr at 25°C helps reduce oil backstreaming and supports cleaner vacuum operation.
