Shell Tetra Oil 10SP Low-Viscosity Specialty Lubricating Oil for Machine Tools
Shell Tetra Oil 10SP is a low-viscosity specialty lubricating oil for machine tools. High-speed spindles can generate heat that causes thermal expansion of machine components and may affect micron-level machining accuracy; the Tetra Oil SP series was developed for these high-speed precision lubrication conditions. The formulation contains special friction modifiers (FM), antioxidants and rust inhibitors, providing low-friction performance together with good extreme-pressure properties, oxidation stability and rust protection.

Product Features
Low Viscosity and Low Friction:A kinematic viscosity of 10 mm²/s at 40°C makes it suitable for high-speed precision spindle systems.
Reduced Frictional Heat:Special FM additives help reduce friction and heat generation during high-speed operation.
Good Extreme-Pressure Performance:Shell positions Tetra Oil SP as a low-viscosity specialty oil with excellent EP characteristics.
Oxidation and Rust Protection:Antioxidants and rust inhibitors help protect the lubricant and metal components during operation.
Suitable for Precision Machine Tools:
Helps minimize heat-related expansion effects in applications where machining accuracy is important.
Product Applications
High-Speed Spindles:For high-speed spindles in machine tools and similar equipment.
Hydrostatic Bearings:Recommended for high-speed hydrostatic bearing systems.
5-Axis Head Gears:Suitable for lubrication of gears in 5-axis machining heads.
General Spindle-Head Gears:For gear mechanisms in conventional spindle heads.
Precision Machining Equipment:Suitable where reduced frictional heat and stable dimensional accuracy are required.
